martyparty and pantyraid make glitch hop dubstep dance music

One time when I was listening to my favorite Pandora station (Thievery Corporation) a slow, melodic track came on that sounded like nothing I had heard before. There was a Method Man sample, some dubstep wobbles and glitchy type scratching. Never had I heard glitch hop sound so progressive, melodic and evocative. The track was by some group called PANTyRAID and the track was Get the Money.

After some research, I found out that PANTyRAID was a duo consisting of Ooah from The Glitch Mob and a guy named MartyParty from South Africa. A lot of their stuff is more down tempo with dirty south rap samples and dark sci-fi synths. Check out this other track called Beba. In 2009, they dropped a largely overlooked full length album in called The Sauce, but my favorite way to experience PANTyRAID is through their promotional mini mixes like this and this. For more recent tracks, you can also stream or download the Superior EP from their website.

MartyParty put out ^^^ this promo video recently and it’s a good representation of his musical personality. He seems to really be building steam as a solo artist, producer and and dj, churning out amazing remixes, free EPs and shows all over the world like crazy. His niche within dubstep is more hip hop than hardcore (read: Skrillex), making his sound more accessible to some audiences. Here are my favorite MartyParty long mixes, original tracks and remixes, including one he did for Adele with another side project of his called Deathstar.
